Dr. Desmond Barrett
Lead Pastor
The Barrett Family will begin their ministry on May 28, 2023 at Winter Haven First Church of the Nazarene. The Barrett family comes to Winter Haven Nazarene from Summit Nazarene in Ashland, Kentucky. where they have serviced since January 2019.
Dr. Barrett has served on the Virginia and Kentucky District's. Pastor Desmond is a graduate of Nazarene Bible College with a Bachelor of Ministry degree, and Trevecca Nazarene University with a Master of Organizational Leadership and Doctor of Education in Leadership and Professional Practice.
Pastor Desmond and Julie have four children and are passionate about living the mission of Christ and seeing His Kingdom built locally and around the world. The Barrett's have been married since 2000.
Rev. Bill Vinson
Associate Pastor for Missional Outreach
Pastor Bill is a graduate of Mt. Vernon Nazarene College (now University), Nazarene Theological Seminary, and Duke University School of Nonprofit Management. He is married to his best friend and ministry partner, Jan, a northwest Ohio native. They have three adult children: Eric & wife Cara (Nashville, Tennessee), Drew & wife Laura, grandsons Joel and Elliot (Gallatin Tennessee), and Molly Ranson & husband Carter, grandson Will (Nashville, Tennessee).
Foreign travel and mission opportunities have allowed Bill to pack his bags for over 50 Work & Witness mission trips. He is also passionate about sports, photography and spending time doing anything with his family.
Pastor Bill’s life verse is “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 2:5)
Robert Toney
HIS Mission Assistant Pastor
Robert Toney is the leader of HIS Mission Outreach Ministry. This is an exciting, rewarding and challenging ministry to those less fortunate. Robert has been involved with the Naz Thrift shop outreach ministry and became HIS Mission leader in 2022. God is accomplishing wonderful things through this ministry and in the lives of HIS people. The theme of this ministry is HIS Mission - OUR Mission.
Robert considers it a privilege and joy to share Christ and make disciples in Christ’s Church.
